Team JAS Announces Trans Maldivian Airways as the Launch Customer for New Corrosion Resistant Twin Otter Door Handles

Team JAS, the Solutions Company announced today that Trans Maldivian Airways will be the launch customer for their new FAA PMA Approved DHC-6 Twin Otter door handles.  These new design Twin Otter door handles are not only extremely corrosion resistant but also embody improved sealing technology to eliminate the need for continued on-wing maintenance.

“Team JAS is pleased that Tran Maldivian Airways, the largest Twin Otter Seaplane operator in the world, has become not only our launch customer but will also be the fleet leader in evaluating the long-term life of these new Twin Otter door handles” said Jonathon Sanders, Director of Engineering & Manufacturing for Team JAS.  “In addition to a unique new sealing system and a stronger anodized aluminum body, we engineered a new stainless-steel internal shaft to further protect against corrosion and time-consuming recurring maintenance”.

“Team JAS has been a long-time supplier of Parts and MRO Services to Trans Maldivian Airways and we were very excited to be consulted on the new design of these door handles as we operate in such a highly corrosive environment” commented Mr. Ahmed Fazeel, Engineering & Maintenance Manager at Trans Maldivian Airways.   “As the first company to receive these new door handles, we have also agreed to be the fleet leader user to track their performance over time in a large seaplane operation”.

With the world’s largest seaplane fleet, Trans Maldivian Airways flies from Velana International Airport in Male to holiday destinations in the Maldives.  www.transmaldivian.com
